What does Colorado Credit Union do with your personal information?

Why?

Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information. Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do.

The types of personal information we collect and share depend on the accounts, products or services you have with us. This information can include:

  • Name, address, Social Security Number, and income

  • Account balances and payment history

  • Credit history and credit scores

What We Do

How does Colorado Credit Union protect my personal information?

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards, secured files and buildings, procedural safeguards and safe record storage. We will continue to review and modify our security controls in the future to deal with changes in products, services and technology.

How does Colorado Credit Union collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you

  • start an account

  • apply for a loan

  • use your credit or debit card

  • pay your bills

  • make deposits to or withdrawals from the accounts you have with us

We also collect your personal information from others, including credit bureaus or other companies.

Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law only gives you the right to limit:

  • sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes—information about your creditworthiness

  • affiliates from using your information to market to you

  • sharing for non-affiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.

What happens when I limit sharing for an account I hold jointly with someone else?

Your choices will apply to everyone on the account you have with us.

Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Colorado Credit Union does not have affiliates

Non-affiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Colorado Credit Union does not share with non-affiliates so that they can market to you.

Joint marketing

A formal agreement between non-affiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you. Our marketing partners include:

  • Investment companies

  • Insurance companies Insurance companies

  • Other financial service providers


Additional Privacy Information

Certain features (such as payment services) of Online Banking and Mobile Banking need to access your device’s contacts in order to complete transactions efficiently. Also, certain features require access to your camera (for facial recognition or for mobile deposit).

In addition, Mobile Banking also may periodically collect, transmit, and use geolocation information to support features that prevent fraudulent card use and alerts, but only if you expressly authorize collection of such information. You may choose whether geolocation information can be monitored on a continuous basis in the background, only while the app is being used, or not at all. You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings.





Your credit union is required, by law, to provide you with a Privacy Policy disclosure that explains how your personal information is collected and disclosed as we conduct business at the credit union. A written form of the Privacy Policy is mailed to all members annually and may be downloaded from the website. Colorado Credit Union does NOT share your non-public, private information with entities unrelated to our business. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your non public personal information.

Colorado Credit Union collects non-public personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on member applications or other forms
  • Information about your transactions with us or others
  • Information we receive from consumer reporting agencies
  • Information obtained when verifying the information you provide on an application or other forms

This may be obtained from your current or past employers, or from other institutions where you conduct financial transactions.

Colorado Credit Union may disclose your non-public personal information for member initiated transactions and requests and to service providers such as our data processor, card processor, credit reporting agencies, etc., as required to conduct business. We may disclose your non-public information to the Internal Revenue Service and other regulatory agencies as required by law.

If you terminate your membership, we will not share information we have collected about you, except as permitted or required by law.

Colorado Credit Union restricts access to your personal and account information to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you.

Website: Colorado Credit Union uses “cookies” on our website and online banking. Cookies are small pieces of information a website stores on a visitor’s web browser to remind the site about the user the next time the site is visited. We do not store confidential or sensitive information through the use of cookies. Our use of cookies enhances our member’s online transactions and eases navigation through our website. For certain applications, such as online transactions, cookies are required to help protect the privacy of member’s transactions (for example: terminating the session if the member forgets to log out). We collect email addresses from members who request electronic services, and from users of our website who choose to provide their addresses.

Protection of Your Children’s Online Privacy: Colorado Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of your children. We do not knowingly solicit, market, or collect data from children online without express parental consent or notification.

Modification: The Credit Union reserves the right to modify, change or amend this Privacy Policy at any time without notice other than as expressly required by applicable law.

Your Responsibility to Protect Information: While the Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of its members, you can help by taking some simple precautions. Never share any of your passwords or PIN information. Keep this information separate from your computer, your wallet, or any card. When someone calls you, please take extreme caution when disclosing any account numbers, social security numbers, or other information. Keep your phone number and address with us current, so if we detect potential fraud or unauthorized account activity, we can attempt to contact you immediately. Our Mobile App and your Location Data: Our mobile banking app periodically collects, transmits, and uses geolocation information to support features that prevent fraudulent card use and alerts, but only if you expressly authorize collection of such information. You can change your location permissions at any time in your device settings.
