Rising Star Employee
Publish date: 6/1/2021
This star employee has been around for a while – ten years in fact. Meet our newly promoted Director of Training and Human Resources, Josh Harden.
Josh joined the Colorado Credit Union staff ten years ago as an intern while he was still in high school. He moved to a teller position while attending the University of Colorado. After completing his Bachelors’ degrees in Human Resource Management and Operations Management, he moved into the HR and training department. He graduated in 2018 with an MBA from Regis University. In his current role, Harden redesigned and leads the internal training program and helped develop the company’s community financial literacy initiative which includes teaching financial education to area high school students.
In April 2021, Josh was honored by the CUNA HR & Organizational Development Council as the 2021 Rising Star. The annual award recognizes and honors an emerging HR or organizational development professional in the credit union industry.
“I’m extremely honored to receive this award,” Harden said. “Colorado Credit Union has been my career – and what a great one it has been thus far. It is a pleasure to be a part of such a great organization and industry.”
What drew you to Colorado Credit Union or the industry?
Growing up I was fascinated with money and banking. I remember sitting on my bedroom floor as a child and counting money for fun with my fake cash register! Occasionally, I even played banker and conducted transactions with my family members for fun (…or at least it was fun for me!).
I realized I found a great fit in Colorado Credit Union after witnessing the community involvement/outreach opportunities. It has always been a passion of mine to help others where able. It is fulfilling to know that everyday we work towards our purpose of providing lifelong value for our members and those in our community.
What is your favorite thing about your role here at CCU?
The team and membership are my favorite things about CCU! We are fortunate to have great people at the credit union. In my position specifically, I work closely with each department and support them where applicable. Everyday our staff gives their all to make this the best place to bank and work; I am thankful to be a part of CCU!
Josh is based in our Ken-Caryl branch, but will be in all our branches regularly. If you see Josh in a branch, please introduce yourself.
