If you haven’t been in a branch recently you might not have met our new Director of Operations, Brian Abbott. Brian joined our staff earlier this year and is already working hard to meet and exceed member’s expectations.
Brian is a Colorado native and has lived in Denver since 1990. He’s a huge Broncos fan and supporter of all Colorado sports. An avid lover of the outdoors, Brian spends most weekends in the mountains hiking, skiing or mountain biking. Brian has two daughters both of whom are in college.
We wanted to learn a little more about Brian, his industry experience and what led him to CCU.
How did you get into the financial services industry?
I have been in financial services since the 90s. I started in the consumer finance industry, learning the loan process from end to end. I was with a national bank from 1996 – 2012 in multiple leadership roles in both retail banking and wholesale mortgage lending. In 2012, I joined a local credit union as Director of Retail Delivery and was over the ten-branch retail network. I just joined CCU in January of this year.
What drew you to Colorado Credit Union?
I am an advocate for the credit union industry and really enjoy working with our member-facing team to deliver the highest quality service. After meeting with the team at CCU, I just knew it was a great fit for me.
What are your main responsibilities with Colorado Credit Union?
I’m responsible for the oversight and leadership of our retail branch network and our call center. In this capacity, my primary goal is to deliver high-quality and seamless service to our members. I will provide strategic direction and operational support so that we can operate as efficiently as possible, while anticipating our future needs.
