CCU Members Donate to Food Bank of the Rockies
CCU is proud to make a donation to Food Bank of the Rockies on behalf of members and the community across all branch locations.
CCU collected monetary donations at our free community shred days in June and July. Over $2,100 was collected by CCU members and the community which will provide anywhere from 6,000-7,000 meals!

TGTHR Summer 2023 Health Fair
Colorado Credit Union sponsored the TGTHR Summer 2023 Health Fair, an event designed to provide community resources regarding various types of wellness for local homeless youth.
Our staff had an awesome afternoon connecting with TGTHR clients about financial wellness, specifically money management basics. This partnership allows for TGTHR clients to access CCU products and services, alongside financial education opportunities.
Brighton Summerfest 2023
Colorado Credit Union sponsored the City of Brighton's Summerfest. Even though it rained all day, our staff enjoyed being outside connecting with people in our community. Staff's favorite part was connecting with families while children got their face painted. We can't wait until next year!
Food For Thought BakPak Program
Colorado Credit Union has donated over $32,000 since 2012 to the "Food for Thought Bak Pak" program, which serves weekend meals to over 200 kids in-need in the SW Jeffco School District. Our special thanks to Michelle Morroni and Joe Gamarano for orchestrating such a worthy cause.

CCU Provides Free Financial Education in Schools
Colorado Credit Union is dedicated to providing free financial education to the members of our community. CCU has partnered with a number of schools in Colorado and provides free financial education on a variety of topics. Staff volunteer their time to go in-person to teach students on many different financial topics. CCU's goal is to educate and teach high school students about financial responsibility, preparing them for financial success after graduation and beyond.
Hands of the Carpenter Partnership
Colorado Credit Union has partnered with Hands of the Carpenter to provide single women with dependents with reliable vehicles. To date, we have helped 8 women secure reliable vehicles, helped build credit and provide financial education. We look forward to serving many more women.
Project Our Town
All Colorado Credit Union staff volunteered with
Project Our Town and their
Bean Soup Project putting together 2,285 pounds of food, amounting to 18,280 servings! Staff enjoyed fulfilling the mission of the credit union industry and by helping those in our communities.
Our staff continues to support Project Our Town's initiatives with volunteer time.

We welcomed 57 cars and collected $285 in donation for Food Bank of the Rockies during Brighton's 2023 Shred Day.
The 2022 Community Shred Days were a success! Our Brighton branch received shred items from over 70 cars and collected over $200 for the nonprofit, Let Your Light Shine! Our Littleton branch received shred items from over 150 cars and collected over $400 for the JeffCo nonprofit, The Action Center.
Adopt-A-Family
CCU has participated in the Adopt-A-Family Program since 2008 to help families in our communities. With your help, holiday gifts and other items will be donated to families in need.
With the generous donations of our members and staff, we gathered a total of $2,230.00 and were able to provide necessities and holiday gifts for six separate families. Helping out in our community is always important, but this year the need is even greater. Our hearts are full knowing that we are surrounded with so many caring and compassionate people.
Salvation Army Angel Tree
We are proud to report that all 100 of our angels were adopted by CCU staff and their friends in 2022. From sleds, to winter hats and just about everything in between, CCU helped brighten the holidays for both children and seniors in the Denver metro area. Thank you to everyone who adopted an angel.
Heartland Hero Ceremonies
Every year local 5th graders participate in the Heartland Hero Essay Contest sponsored by the Jason Dahl Foundation. Students are encouraged to write essays about what it means to be a hero and who is their hero and why. CCU is a proud sponsor of the contest and provides prizes for all students who enter the contest as well as the grand prizes for the essay winners.
This year, because of COVID-19, the award ceremonies look at bit different. The first award ceremony with Shaffer Elementary School students was held via Zoom. Several more ceremonies are taking place in the upcoming weeks. CCU's Brooke Thurlow serves on the board of the Foundation and is helping organize the school ceremonies.
More about the Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship Fund: This foundation, located in Littleton, Colorado and run by CCU Board Member, is committed to keeping Jason's memory and dreams alive by working to provide scholarships for young people aspiring to enter the aviation profession.
Jason, who lived in Littleton, was the Captain of United Airlines Flight 93 which was hijacked at 9:28am on September 11, 2001, subsequently crashing at 10:02am in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania instead of its intended target, the US Capitol Building in Washington D.C. Food Bank of the Rockies
Colorado Credit Union staff spent the day volunteering at Food Bank of the Rockies. Together, we unpacked, sorted and created meal boxes for Colorado families in need. With a lot of hard work, we packed up enough food boxes to feed 250,000 people! What impressive teamwork that benefits so many Coloradans in-need!
Zuma's Rescue Ranch
Colorado Credit Union had the privilege of volunteering our time at Zuma's Rescue Ranch-- cleaning, hauling, learning about the animals, and more! What a wonderful place and a time of great employee engagement and teamwork.
Ken-Caryl Ranch Foundation Events
Colorado Credit Union has been a proud supporter of the Ken-Caryl Ranch Foundation and the Ken-Caryl community. In doing so, we sponsor Flick-and-Floats during the summer, allowing family and friends to enjoy popcorn and movies at the pool! We also sponsor the Ken-Caryl Metro District's Holiday Happenings event in December, complete with hayrides, children's activities, and hot cocoa.

Captain Jason Dahl Foundation
Colorado Credit Union had the honor of attending "A Night at the Air Museum," benefitting the Captain Jason Dahl Foundation of flight. The evening reflected on the memory of our local hero Captain Jason Dahl of Flight 93, and all the victims of 9/11. On behalf of our members and staff, CCU has had the privilege of contributing to and helping orchestrate events for the Jason Dahl Scholarship Fund, thus enabling the dreams of future aviation pilots.
Children's Hospital of Colorado
Colorado Credit Union presented a check for $8,850.05 to Children’s Hospital Colorado! It was an honor to present this donation on behalf of our members, employees, and the communities we serve.
Brighton Chamber 27J Teachers Luncheon
Colorado Credit Union had the privilege of being a title sponsor at Brighton Chamber 27J Teachers Luncheon welcoming 125 new teachers to the school district. This was a great opportunity to inform a variety of individuals about our credit union and our involvement with the 27J school district.
