Adam Berlin
COLORADO CREDIT UNION MEMBER MAKES HIS DEBUT AS TELEVISION HOST ON DIY NETWORK'S SPECIAL "SWEAT EQUITY"
Local Residents Get "Hands On" To Improve Value Of Their Homes
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - September 2006 - Adam Berlin, Littleton business owner and member of Colorado Credit Union, is well known for his expertise in construction and home remodeling, but on Monday, Oct. 2, the experienced general contractor makes his television debut on DIY Network (Comcast, Ch. 277; DirecTV, Ch. 230; Dish, Ch. 111) with a back-to-back premiere, beginning at 6:30 p.m./EST. As the host of Sweat Equity, Berlin shows five local area residents how to increase the value of their home without breaking the bank!
"DIY Network's Sweat Equity delivers both a do-it-yourself approach to saving money and advice on making wise decisions toward your real estate investment," said Berlin. "I am very excited about educating homeowners on the how-to and giving viewers the P's & Q's about where they should put their money in home improvements."
In order to do this, Berlin leads homeowners through a variety of short-term renovation projects in DIY's five-part workshop, Sweat Equity, with the goal of assisting them in saving approximately half of what they would have spent if they had hired someone else to do the entire job.
In each half-hour episode, homeowners do most of the work themselves with the help of Berlin, who has more than 15 years of professional experience in construction and home remodeling. From projects involving kitchens, bathrooms, landscaping and more, homeowners see a big, positive return on their investment from start to finish!
Berlin's area of expertise is kitchens and baths, making him the ideal candidate to host DIY's Sweat Equity. He got started in the industry by painting houses, and then worked his way into home repairs and remodels as a means to pay for college. Six years after earning a bachelor's degree from Colorado State University in exercise and sports science, with an emphasis in education, Berlin began his home remodeling business. Whether or not a house is about to be sold - the CCU member works closely with realtors and homeowners to maximize home value.
He also brings these skills to the table in DIY's Sweat Equity with an experienced realtor who assesses the home's value at the beginning and end of every episode. The program also addresses the "no-no's" of remodeling - cosmetic projects having little effect on a home's equity with national experts who talk about nationwide trends and offer data supporting remodel projects.
The Denver-area homeowners involved in Sweat Equity were willing to get down and dirty with Berlin, and each will be featured in their very own half-hour episode during the week of Monday, Oct. 2 - Friday, Oct. 6 on DIY Network at 6:30 p.m./EST, along with the back-to-back premiere on Monday, Oct. 2 at 6:30 p.m./EST. Basic information of each episode and the featured homeowners is attached.
